Index PSP Patch Complete

So the patch is done. It can be found here: https://mega.nz/#!yQ0B0ARA!7haRldyFs7Dz-Xxjd7MjxWAT6VhhY3BT5ZzFvy-GrvU

To apply the patch, simply drag the ISO file for the game onto the application as indicated. I’ll also be posting this link on the main Index PSP page.

EDIT: A number of people have reported the game crashing on real hardware. To fix this, under recovery menu, go to advanced and make sure the option “force high memory layout” is disabled.

  1. Hi, I was wondering what programs they used and if there is any tutorial, I wanted to make a patch in Spanish of the game

      2. Hmm. Tempting since I did recently get into SteinsGate. Are we talking 30 dialogue lines? I am rather busy with other projects, but if it’s only a few lines or so, I might be able to squeeze it in.

  4. Is there anything I need to have in order to play this patch? Cause it says “Drag and drop Index ISO on me.bat” I don’t know what that is. Is it some kind of game emulator?

    1. The patch modifies the existing Japanese game. The ISO file is the game pack. Dragging it onto the patch file will automatically produce a patched ISO file from the Japanese one. The ISO file can then be played on an emulator or other compatible software.

      1. Would it work on an emulator on an iPhone 7? Because I have the PPSSPP emulator on my phone and I used instructions from this video I found to help with that but it won’t load the game. Does it only work on specific types of computers/phones or is the emulator? Sorry I’m new at this whole emulator thing.

      2. Ok now I’m trying it on my windows and when I drag it to the xdelta program it just says its name. Is there something I’m doing wrong? (same guy)

      3. Ok. To start with, did you obtain an Index PSP ISO? The ISO allows you to play the original Japanese game on PPSSPP. You need that to play the game. Look for a site that allows you to download PSP ISO files.

Second, if you want to be sure the emulator is working, use it to play the ISO file. The game will play in Japanese.

To get the English translation applied, drag the ISO file you downloaded onto the patch file. Doing so should produce a new ISO file that has the patch applied to it. Use PPSSPP to open this ISO file and the game should load in English.

      4. Wherever you can find it really. Once you have the patched ISO, all you need is to open it with the appropriate software. On a PC, that would mean using an emulator to open the patched ISO.

    1. At which point? During the patching process, when booting up the patched game, starting the emulator? If it’s during the patching process, you could try finding a pre patched version of the game instead. I know there are at least a couple such versions floating around.

    1. It’s pretty straightforward. Obtain a game ISO file, download the patch from the link provided, and then drag the ISO onto the application that says “drop here”. It should run on an emulator. Also, you can use real hardware using custom firmware to play it.

      1. Well I’ve tried that, I just wanted to clarify if I miss something because it always crashes in PPSSPP. I’m sorry about that..

      2. I see. Unfortunately I had little to do with the technical aspects of the patch. Out of curiosity, did you try the un patched game? If so, did you use install data?

      3. I can let you know what emulation settings I use and see if that helps. I could also try reaching out to Kotcrab and see if he can help you. He handled the technical parts of the project.

      4. I spoke to Kotcrab about it. He recommends making sure you have downloaded the latest version of the emulator and try playing it on the default settings.

    1. I suppose I could upload my save data. Alternatively, you can always just obtain the railgun PSP ISO and create your own save data. It doesn’t need to be a competed game save.

  5. Incredible work you’re doing with this; played this game ages ago and it’s a treat to be able to play it and better understand the mechanics and story now.

Thanks a lot for doing this.
